Who we are

Firefly Software, LLC is a custom web development studio based in Helena, Montana. This policy explains what data we collect when you visit fireflysoftware.dev and how we use it.

Analytics

We use two analytics services to understand how visitors use this site:

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-B6NKT7J888) to measure traffic patterns, page views, and referral sources. Google Analytics uses cookies to identify returning visitors. Google may process this data on servers outside your country of residence. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Plausible Analytics

We also use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused alternative. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across sites. All data is aggregated and no individual visitor can be identified. Plausible is compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without requiring a cookie consent banner.

Contact form

When you submit the contact form on this site, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. This information is sent to us via Postmark (our email delivery service) and used solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list, CRM, or automated sequence.

Cookies

This site uses cookies only through Google Analytics. No cookies are set by Firefly Software directly. Plausible Analytics does not use cookies. No advertising or tracking cookies are present on this site.

Third-party services

In addition to the analytics services above, this site uses:

• Cloudflare — DNS and CDN. Cloudflare may process connection data (IP address, request headers) to serve and protect the site.
• Hetzner — Server hosting. Our servers are located in the EU and US.
• Postmark — Email delivery for contact form submissions.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — Bot protection on the contact form. Turnstile does not use cookies and does not collect personal data.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained in our email inbox for the duration of the business relationship. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Plausible Analytics data is retained indefinitely in aggregated, anonymous form.
